Assists in the delivery of health care and patient management. Performs selected medical assistant and administrative duties, as delegated by the nursing staff. Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Assesses and records vital signs, including weight. Assists in the upkeep of the Infusion Suite with restocking, cleaning equipment, and general cleanliness. Orders and maintains clinical supplies and equipment. Assists infusion staff with ordering infusion supplies. Schedules patients for infusion therapy and office visits. Administering SQ/IM injections, as directed by the physician, in compliance with company policies. Communicates with providers and other staff members, as appropriate. Prepares lab specimens and requisition forms for appropriate labs according to practice insurance participation. Performs phlebotomy on patients and prepares laboratory samples for delivery to appropriate laboratories, both in house lab and reference labs. Check lab values for scheduled patients to assist Infusion Nurses. Remains current with the policies mandated by Federal and local governments, Medicare/Medicaid programs and other private healthcare programs regarding handling of laboratory work, medications and ancillary services. Attends Departmental Meetings. Performs related work as required. Other Duties as Assigned: The assignment of duties to employees is not limited to the content of this job description.
