About The Position

This is a high-volume practice offering a rewarding, team-oriented work environment. The Medical Assistant II performs tasks pertinent to the age of the patient (infancy to geriatric), maintains accurate inventory of medical supplies, and assists in the selection of division equipment and supplies. The role involves performing nursing procedures as directed by the clinician, assisting in quality assurance and control, and participating in continuing education. The Medical Assistant II also assists in the efficient flow of patients and attends work as scheduled, performing related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Allied Health Training program
  • Certification achieved by passing a National exam from a program other than the MA school
  • Proof of re-certification, if applicable
  • Dedication to detail and accuracy.
  • Respect for patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly.
  • Team member skills.
  • Should have experience with or knowledge of medical office systems, supplies and equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • One year’s experience in a health facility, preferred.
  • Current CPR certification, preferred.
  • Pleasant, patient and understanding; flexible.

Responsibilities

  • Performs tasks pertinent to age of patient (infancy to geriatric)
  • Maintains accurate inventory of medical supplies; assists in the selection of division equipment and supplies.
  • Performs all nursing procedures (with the exception of certain injections, triage, IVs and IV medications) as directed by the clinician according to the guidelines in the Nursing Procedure Manual.
  • May be assigned lab duties
  • Assists in quality assurance and control.
  • Participates in the continuing educational process.
  • Assists in the efficient flow of patients.
  • Attends work as scheduled.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
