About The Position

This is a full-time position in a high-volume practice offering a rewarding, team-oriented work environment. The role involves performing tasks pertinent to the age of the patient (infancy to geriatric), maintaining accurate medical supply inventory, and assisting in the selection of division equipment and supplies. The Medical Assistant II will perform nursing procedures as directed by the clinician, potentially assist with lab duties, and contribute to quality assurance and control. The position also requires participation in continuing education, assisting in patient flow, and attending work as scheduled. Related duties as assigned are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Allied Health Training program
  • Certification achieved by passing a National exam from a program other than the MA school
  • Proof of re-certification, if applicable
  • Dedication to detail and accuracy.
  • Respect for patient confidentiality.
  • Pleasant, patient and understanding; flexible.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly.
  • Team member skills.
  • Should have experience with or knowledge of medical office systems, supplies and equipment.
  • Demonstrates clinical competence

Nice To Haves

  • One year’s experience in a health facility, preferred.
  • Current CPR certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs tasks pertinent to age of patient (infancy to geriatric)
  • Maintains accurate inventory of medical supplies; assists in the selection of division equipment and supplies.
  • Performs all nursing procedures (with the exception of certain injections, triage, IVs and IV medications) as directed by the clinician according to the guidelines in the Nursing Procedure Manual.
  • May be assigned lab duties
  • Assists in quality assurance and control.
  • Participates in the continuing educational process.
  • Assists in the efficient flow of patients.
  • Attends work as scheduled.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
