About The Position

This role is crucial for improving patient satisfaction and operational efficiency at the West LA location, which currently lacks a dedicated Medical Assistant for check-in. Patient care MAs rotate this duty, impacting patient wait times and team bandwidth. This position will provide consistent front desk coverage, ensuring a positive patient experience and supporting the clinical team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current and valid Medical Assistant certificate / certification from an accredited training program required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills may be required, depending on location or patient population.
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.
  • Satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clinicians with patient examinations and treatments under physician direction.
  • Provide front and/or back office clinical support in accordance with Care Center or Medical Group Practice protocols.
  • Greet patients in a friendly, service-oriented manner and facilitate a positive patient experience.
  • Manage patient check-in by ensuring charts are prepared, medical records are available, patient information is current, and required paperwork is complete.
  • Interview patients, obtain and document vital signs, and record the reason for visit.
  • Explain procedures, perform treatments, and administer prescribed medications as directed.
  • Support patient check-out by scheduling follow-up appointments, collecting co-payments when applicable, and ensuring documentation is complete.
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
  • Reconcile co-payments at the end of each day in accordance with clinic procedures.
