About The Position

The Certified/Registered Medical Assistant III (CMA/RMA) is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate clinical and administrative support to physicians, hospitalists, and other healthcare professionals in both outpatient and hospital settings. This role ensures efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and exceptional patient care through coordination, education, and hands-on service delivery while adhering to established clinical guidelines, provider supervision standards, and organizational policies.

Requirements

  • Certified/Registered Medical Assistant III (CMA/RMA)
  • Proficiency in conducting comprehensive patient intakes, including vital signs, medical histories, and medication/allergy review.
  • Ability to assist providers during examinations, minor procedures, wound care, and diagnostic testing.
  • Skill in performing EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection.
  • Competence in preparing, labeling, and processing laboratory samples and point-of-care tests.
  • Knowledge of infection control, safety protocols, and equipment calibration.
  • Experience in patient triage, care coordination, and transitions across clinical settings.
  • Ability to provide patient education on medications, treatment plans, chronic condition management, and preventive care.
  • Proficiency in accurately documenting clinical data, provider instructions, and patient updates in the EHR.
  • Experience in scheduling, confirming, and tracking patient appointments, referrals, authorizations, and test results.
  • Skill in verifying insurance coverage and assisting with prior authorizations, billing, and coding.
  • Ability to monitor inventory levels and prepare examination or procedure rooms.
  • Experience in participating in performance improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and safety drills.
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate interaction among patients, providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and compliance standards.
  • Ability to provide compassionate, culturally competent care with sensitivity to diverse patient populations.
  • Excellent guest service skills for internal team members and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts comprehensive patient intakes, including obtaining vital signs, recording medical histories, and reviewing medication and allergy information.
