About The Position

This position performs tasks pertinent to the age of the patient, from infancy to geriatric. The Medical Assistant II maintains accurate inventory of medical supplies and assists in the selection of division equipment and supplies. They perform nursing procedures as directed by the clinician, according to the guidelines in the Nursing Procedure Manual, with the exception of certain injections, triage, IVs, and IV medications. This role may also be assigned lab duties and assists in quality assurance and control. The Medical Assistant II participates in continuing education and assists in the efficient flow of patients, while attending work as scheduled and performing related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Allied Health Training program
• Certification achieved by passing a National exam from a program other than the MA school
• Proof of re-certification, if applicable
• Dedication to detail and accuracy.
• Respect for patient confidentiality.
• Pleasant, patient and understanding; flexible.
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly.
• Team member skills.
• Should have experience with or knowledge of medical office systems, supplies and equipment.

Nice To Haves

• One year’s experience in a health facility, preferred.
• Current CPR certification, preferred.
