RHC-NIA Medical Assistant II
About The Position
The Medical Assistant (MA) functions under the Medical Direction of the Clinic Physicians and their designees, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife, or Physician Assistants, to carry out direct patient service in the NIHD Clinics. The MA is directly supervised by the Clinic Physician or their designee (NP or PA) for clinical practice and works closely with District leadership and departments as well as internal and external customers. The role involves working in an outpatient clinic setting and may expose the MA to blood, body fluids, or tissues, as well as patients in varying stages of infectious states.
Requirements
- Medical Assistant training course completion
- High School Diploma or GED certificate
- BLS upon hire
Nice To Haves
- 1 + year experience in medical field or clinical back office setting
- California Certified Medical Assistant certification or similar National certification
Responsibilities
- Carry out direct patient service in the NIHD Clinics.
