MEDICAL ASSISTANT II (3993)
About The Position
This position involves performing tasks pertinent to the age of the patient, from infancy to geriatric. The Medical Assistant II will maintain accurate inventory of medical supplies, assist in the selection of division equipment and supplies, and perform nursing procedures as directed by the clinician, following the guidelines in the Nursing Procedure Manual. The role may include lab duties, assisting with quality assurance and control, participating in continuing education, and ensuring the efficient flow of patients. The position requires attending work as scheduled and performing related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Allied Health Training program
- Certification achieved by passing a National exam from a program other than the MA school
- Proof of re-certification, if applicable
- Dedication to detail and accuracy.
- Respect for patient confidentiality.
- Pleasant, patient and understanding; flexible.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly.
- Team member skills.
- Should have experience with or knowledge of medical office systems, supplies and equipment.
Nice To Haves
- One year’s experience in a health facility, preferred.
- Current CPR certification, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Performs tasks pertinent to age of patient (infancy to geriatric)
- Maintains accurate inventory of medical supplies; assists in the selection of division equipment and supplies.
- Performs all nursing procedures (with the exception of certain injections, triage, IVs and IV medications) as directed by the clinician according to the guidelines in the Nursing Procedure Manual.
- May be assigned lab duties
- Assists in quality assurance and control.
- Participates in the continuing educational process.
- Assists in the efficient flow of patients.
- Attends work as scheduled.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
