The Medical Assistant II will adhere to the Medical Assistant scope of practice, follow all policies and procedures, and maintain training and competency based on area of specialty when providing patient care. This role involves performing rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings. The Medical Assistant II will also assist providers with or perform procedures as ordered, handle lab-related duties including specimen collection and results tracking, and perform Point of Care testing. Additionally, they will administer medications and vaccines safely, complete tasks such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, and patient messaging, and demonstrate effective communication and teamwork. Maintaining a clean work environment, ensuring equipment and supplies are in working order, and stocking areas are also key responsibilities. This role may involve assisting with training and onboarding of new teammates and may serve as a role champion or on a committee. The position requires the ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding principles of growth and development across the lifespan.
