This role is in a multi-disciplinary clinic where the Medical Assistant will be crossed trained at the front desk to assist with phone calls, appointment scheduling, clinical messaging, check in, check out and other front desk duties. The Medical Assistant will review provider schedules daily and weekly to plan patient care and formulate solutions for potential problems. They will greet patients in the waiting room and escort them to the triage room and exam room, and instruct patients on how to prepare for the physician or nurse practitioner, assisting as necessary. This role also involves assisting with the training and orientation of new Medical Assistant staff, cleaning and preparing rooms for the next patient, and providing care appropriate to the age group of patients in the practice setting and documenting data per practice protocols. The Medical Assistant will assure that exam, treatment and clean utility rooms are properly stocked and equipped, and that GI is adequately stocked with Infant Formula, tracking Formula arrival and dispensing. They will also request clinical supplies and practice cost-effectiveness measures.
