The Medical Assistant II position offers a consistent day shift schedule (7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday) with observed holidays off and opportunities for professional development. This role provides direct patient care in various outpatient settings, including rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining comprehensive medical histories, documenting care via electronic medical records, administering vaccines, injections, and medications, performing phlebotomy, point of care testing, and medication reconciliation under the supervision of an RN/Provider. Additionally, the role involves gathering requirements from internal and external customers, providing information via phone, electronic messaging, and in person, and initiating and processing prior authorizations, referrals, sample medications, prescriptions, and refills as directed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Program Medical Assisting OR 5 years of medical assistant experience
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association- within 90 days of hire
  • One of the following certifications within 6 months of hire: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Allied Health or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Registry of Medical Assistants or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) – National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) – National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Performance Specialists (NPS)

Responsibilities

  • Rooming patients
  • Taking vitals
