Medical Assistant II HOPD

This role is for the Oncology department and involves providing a more personal approach to direct patient care in a variety of outpatient settings. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining comprehensive medical history, documenting care via electronic medical record, administering vaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing, and medication reconciliation under the supervision of an RN/Provider. The role also involves gathering requirements from internal and external customers and providing information via phone, electronic messaging, and in person. Additionally, the position requires initiating and following through on prior authorizations, referrals, and processing sample medications, prescriptions, and refills as directed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Program Medical Assisting or 5 years of medical assistant experience
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association - within 90 days of hire
- One of the following certifications within 6 months of hire: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Allied Health or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Registry of Medical Assistants or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) – National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) – National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Performance Specialists (NPS)
