About The Position

Nemours is seeking a Medical Assistant II (Gastroenterology), FULL-TIME, to join our team in Orlando, Florida. Travel to other locations is required. Schedule: 4 days a week at 32 hours per week. Position Overview Nemours is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join our Specialty Care Department. The MA is an important liaison between the patient/family, provider, and other care team members. The MA is responsible for coordinating patient flow by assisting in clinical data collection and review for patient intake, ensuring the appropriate information is available to the provider, and entering pertinent history in the medical record. The MA performs and assists with clinical procedures in accordance with divisional/departmental responsibilities as directed by the provider and per protocol.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant
• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical and administrative tasks
• Acceptable certifications are Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
• American Heart Association BLS Certification within 90 days of hire date

Responsibilities

• Coordinating patient flow by assisting in clinical data collection and review for patient intake
• Ensuring the appropriate information is available to the provider
• Entering pertinent history in the medical record
• Performing and assisting with clinical procedures in accordance with divisional/departmental responsibilities as directed by the provider and per protocol
• Mentoring and training new Medical Assistants
