About The Position

This is a FLOAT role supporting multiple clinic locations. The schedule is 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, part-time, with 24 hours per week. This is a benefits-eligible position with no weekends or holidays. The role involves providing direct patient care across multiple clinic locations, supporting clinical direction and smooth patient flow, performing general lab work, educating patients on procedures, treatments, and care needs, and ensuring medical orders and referrals are completed accurately and on time. The ideal candidate is compassionate, patient-focused, comfortable working in different clinic environments, organized, dependable, self-directed, and has a strong work ethic with a team-first mindset. This role offers variety with exposure to multiple clinics, schedule stability, and strong support and teamwork across sites.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of Medical Assistant experience
  • Current certification
  • Highly flexible and reliable
  • Strong communication skills
  • Fast learner who adapts easily to change
  • AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduation from a Medical Assistant program required
  • Current certification in medical assisting required from America Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Health Career Association (CCMA), National Center for competency Testing (NCMA), American Medical Certification Association (CMAC), and/or National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
  • Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA required
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding required
  • Knowledge of standard laboratory and medical procedures
  • Knowledge of insurance plans and third-party payers
  • Ability to master standard clinical competencies per current Clinical policy, Point of Care and Skills Competency checklists
  • Requires basic math and accurate data collection and entry skills

Nice To Haves

  • TB validated (to administer or read) or validation obtained within 6 months of hire preferred
  • Knowledge of Business Unit Quality Programs, Meaningful Use and Standard Work Programs and concepts within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care across multiple clinic locations
  • Support clinical direction and smooth patient flow
  • Perform general lab work
  • Educate patients on procedures, treatments, and care needs
  • Ensure medical orders and referrals are completed accurately and on time
  • Perform registration and scheduling activities per organizational and departmental procedures
  • Maintain EMR files and perform general front office functions as needed
  • May perform computerized physician order entry, only if directed by assigned physician
  • Precept current MA team members or MA Externs as requested by leadership
