Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required or 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in lieu of High School Diploma.
• Completion of Medical Assistant Program required.
• Three to five years in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Computer skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire/transfer.
• Completion of annual Medical Assistant Competency training.
• Current California CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) certificate or completion of an external MA Phlebotomy training.
• Must travel to multiple clinics

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for provider exam, take vital signs, record patient history and assist in office procedures.
• Administer treatment, medications and injections as ordered.
• Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient charts prior to appointment with recent test results and correspondence.
• Call patient regarding test results as instructed by provider.
• Will float to nearby clinics as needed.
• Willing and able to travel to multiple worksites.
