Medical Assistant I-Ambulatory care center
About The Position
Nemours is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) for our Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) in Milford, DE. The MA serves as a crucial liaison between patients/families, providers, and other care team members. This role is responsible for coordinating patient flow by assisting with clinical data collection and review during patient intake, ensuring providers have the necessary information, and accurately entering patient history into the medical record. The MA also performs and assists with clinical procedures as directed by the provider and in accordance with divisional/departmental protocols.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- Must obtain BLS through AHA within 90 days
- Completion of a certified Medical Assistant program or MA certification required
- Acceptable certifications are Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), National Healthcare Association (NHA)
- Basic clinical and administrative skills.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating patient flow by assisting in clinical data collection and review for patient intake.
- Ensuring the appropriate information is available to the provider.
- Entering pertinent history in the medical record.
- Performing and assisting with clinical procedures in accordance with divisional/department responsibilities as directed by the provider and per protocol.
