About The Position

ChristianaCare Wilmington Adult Medicine is seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant II with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills. ChristianaCare Wilmington Adult Medicine is located in Wilmington, Delaware. Wilmington Adult Medicine Center serves as an academic practice, featuring physicians who are also educators and faculty members. This integration allows resident doctors to be involved in patient care alongside experienced faculty who engage in research and mentorship, fostering innovative and compassionate care teams, many of whom remain with ChristianaCare. The center enhances its primary care services through amenities such as an on-site pharmacy, diagnostic testing, social services, and various patient wellness and educational programs. The range of services provided includes preventative and sick visits for adults, palliative care, nutrition services, and geriatrics. As a Medical Assistant I, you support physicians in virtual and on-site patient care, performing essential clinical and clerical duties to ensure quality care. Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Responsibilities

  • The Medical Assistant I greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs), assists with exams, and maintains exam rooms and equipment.
  • They manage EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.
