About The Position

Every role at NeighborHealth is vital in advancing medicine and delivering the best care experience for patients and the community. This position works in close partnership with a provider(s) to assist and direct patient care in a practice setting. The primary function is to manage efficient patient flow and assist providers as needed. The Medical Assistant is responsible for various non-skilled nursing tasks, maintenance and control of non-pharmaceutical supplies and equipment, and assigned support activities. The Medical Assistant assumes a range of patient care responsibilities dealing with the physical and emotional aspects of assigned patients ages 0 months to greater than 100 years. They prepare for assigned clinics, ensure all test results and instruments are available per department protocol, and communicate with assigned providers throughout the session.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED and a graduate of a Certified Medical Assistant program.
  • One year of Customer Service experience.
  • Excellent oral, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).

Nice To Haves

  • One year of Medical Assisting experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take vital signs.
  • Perform pulse oximetry.
  • Operate 02 equipment.
  • Obtain EKGs.
  • Perform laboratory studies such as glucometer, urine dip stick urinalysis and others as requested.
  • Clean and wrap instruments for sterilization.
  • Follow procedure for operation of autoclave and properly document each load.
