About The Position

The Medical Assistant I supports patient care and clinic operations in a dermatology practice. The role provides a welcoming patient experience, prepares patients for visits, responds thoughtfully to care-related questions, and assists providers with hands-on care. It also helps maintain clinic readiness by managing supplies and equipment, supporting exam-room flow, staying organized, and contributing to a positive and efficient team environment. The work takes place in medical office, procedure/exam room, and laboratory settings, which may involve exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, biohazards, or toxic substances.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Successful completion of a state-approved Medical Assistant program; applicants with extensive experience may be considered unless state law requires the program.
• Authorization to work in the United States without restriction; the employer will not sponsor work visas.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and prepare them for their visits.
• Thoughtfully answer patients’ care-related questions.
• Assist providers during procedures and other hands-on patient care.
• Capture detailed visit notes.
• Fulfill prescription orders.
• Maintain supplies and equipment and support exam-room flow.
• Identify creative ways to improve efficiency.
• Help teammates, keep work organized, and contribute to a positive, supportive environment.
