About The Position

ChristianaCare's Endocrinology practice at Wilmington is seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills. Our Endocrinology team has the experience and expertise to successfully diagnose any endocrine conditions, help develop treatment and management plans for our patients. Endocrinology is the study of hormones and endocrine glands and organs. Hormone-secreting glands and certain organs in your body make up your endocrine system. As a Medical Assistant I, you support physicians in virtual and on-site patient care, performing essential clinical and clerical duties to ensure quality care.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Responsibilities

  • Greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits.
  • Performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs).
  • Assists with exams.
  • Maintains exam rooms and equipment.
  • Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
  • Handles clerical duties.
  • Troubleshoots video visits.
  • Supports patient portal access.
