This full-time Medical Assistant I position at Atrium Health Riverwood Family Medicine is responsible for adhering to the Medical Assistant scope of practice, following all policies and procedures, and maintaining training and competency. The role involves performing rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings. It also includes assisting providers with procedures, performing lab-related duties like venipuncture and specimen collection, and conducting Point of Care testing (POCT). The Medical Assistant will administer medications and vaccines safely, complete tasks such as medication refills and insurance authorizations, and ensure effective communication and teamwork. Maintaining a clean work environment, ensuring equipment and supplies are in order, and potentially assisting with training and onboarding are also key responsibilities. The role requires demonstrating knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development principles.
