About The Position

This is a full-time Medical Assistant position in Petersburg, VA. The role involves performing various tasks related to patient care across all age groups, maintaining medical supplies, assisting clinicians, and ensuring efficient patient flow. The position also includes participation in quality assurance and continuing education.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant or Allied Health Training program, or experience commensurate with medical assistant training.
• Dedication to detail and accuracy.

• Team member skills.
• Should have experience with or knowledge of medical office systems, supplies and equipment.

Nice To Haves

• One year’s experience in a health facility, preferred.
• Current CPR certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs tasks pertinent to age of patient (infancy to geriatric)
• Maintains accurate inventory of medical supplies; assists in the selection of division equipment and supplies.
• Performs all nursing procedures (with the exception of certain injections, IVs and IV medications, triage) as directed by the clinician according to the guidelines in the Nursing Procedure Manual.
• May be assigned lab duties
• Assists in quality assurance and control.
• Participates in the continuing educational process.
• Assists in the efficient flow of patients.
• Attends work as scheduled.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
