Nemours Children's Health is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Medical Assistant (Lake Nona) to join our Primary Care team in Orlando, Florida. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Travel to other locations required.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program.
  • Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), and Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
  • Experience using electronic medical record systems.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Flexibility to work daytime hours based on staffing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and prepare patients for their visit by collecting vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information.
  • Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and in-office procedures.
  • Administer medications and vaccines under provider direction and according to established protocols.
  • Collect specimens, perform basic laboratory testing, and prepare equipment and examination rooms.
  • Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate patient flow to promote efficient, high-quality care.
  • Educate patients and families using provider-approved materials and instructions.
  • Help create a comforting, supportive environment for children and their caregivers.
  • Maintain exam room cleanliness, infection prevention standards, and medical equipment.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other care team members to deliver safe, compassionate, relationship-based care.
  • Perform additional clinical and administrative duties within the scope of the Medical Assistant role and organizational policies.
