ChristianaCare Wilmington Adult Medicine is seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant II with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills. In this resident-supported setting, no two days are the same—you will partner with attending physicians, rotating residents, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care to a diverse patient population. The role requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to confidently manage complexity, while supporting clinical flow, coordinating care, and ensuring accurate documentation across multiple providers. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of patient needs, including complex medical and social factors, while building skills in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vitals, supporting patient education and follow-up, and adapting to changing schedules and priorities. As a Medical Assistant I, you support physicians in virtual and on-site patient care, performing essential clinical and clerical duties to ensure quality care.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Responsibilities

  • Rooming patients
  • Obtaining vitals
  • Supporting patient education and follow-up
  • Adapting to changing schedules and priorities
  • Greets and supports patients virtually and in person
  • Prepares patients for visits
  • Performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs)
  • Assists with exams
  • Maintains exam rooms and equipment
  • Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling
  • Handles clerical duties
  • Troubleshoots video visits
  • Supports patient portal access
