About The Position
ChristianaCare Women's Health is looking to hire a Medical Assistant I for our Women's Health practice in Newark, DE. This practice is located at Christiana Hospital on 4755 Ogletown Stanton Road Suite Y110/1900. As a Medical Assistant I, you will assist physicians during the examination and treatment of patients, whether through virtual or on-site appointments. This role is crucial for delivering quality patient care and encompasses various clinical and clerical duties within the medical practice.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED required
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
Responsibilities
- Greets and supports patients virtually and in person
- Prepares patients for visits
- Performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs)
- Assists with exams
- Maintains exam rooms and equipment
- Manages EMR updates
- Handles patient communications
- Manages referrals and authorizations
- Manages scheduling
- Handles clerical duties
- Troubleshoots video visits
- Supports patient portal access
