About The Position

Granger Medical Clinic is currently seeking a full-time Medical Assistant I to join our Urgent Care team. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with physicians and clinical staff to support patient care. Responsibilities include telephone triage, obtaining insurance authorizations, recording vital signs (such as blood pressure and temperature), administering immunizations, performing phlebotomy, maintaining exam rooms, and managing filing tasks. This position is split between two locations, with two days per week at our Riverton Urgent Care clinic and one day per week at our West Jordan Urgent Care clinic.

Requirements

  • At least two years of total experience as a Medical Assistant
  • A minimum of one year in an urgent care setting
  • Excellent customer service skills, able to communicate courteously and effectively to patients.
  • Typing / keyboarding skills, 40 wpm.
  • Basic arithmetic, computer and analytical skills.
  • Must be dependable, flexible, and multi-task oriented.
  • Enjoy working with people, being a team player and willing to help others with tasks.
  • Must be able to read, communicate and write well in English.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing with Physicians, clinic staff and patients.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Candidates who do not currently hold a valid BLS certification must obtain it within 90 days of hire.
  • High School Graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Accepting experienced Medical Assistant candidates only - 2 years Medical Assisting experience total, 1 year MUST be in urgent care.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional languages helpful but not required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Additional Languages would be helpful, especially Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones, schedule appointments and greet patients for medical or other services.
  • Record all demographic information necessary to contact patients and do prior authorization for medications and procedures.
  • Prepare patients for exams and supply the provider with all relevant information (lab results, vital signs, medications, allergies).
  • Communicate with patients regarding their appointment scheduling and other needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
