Casual Medical Assistant I, School Based Health Center - Warner Elementary
About The Position
ChristianaCare's School Based Health Centers are embedded in high schools and elementary schools across Newcastle and Kent Counties. The School-Based Health Centers were established especially for students to help make the best quality health care available in our community more accessible to them. The School Based Health Centers provide comprehensive medical and mental health care, treatment and health education to promote a healthy lifestyle. Each health center is operated by a partnership that includes ChristianaCare, school districts, and the Delaware Division of Public Health, Department of Health and Social Services. As a Medical Assistant I, you support physicians in virtual and on-site patient care, performing essential clinical and clerical duties to ensure quality care.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED required.
- A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Responsibilities
- Greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits.
- Performs basic clinical and administrative tasks, such as assisting with exams, and maintaining exam rooms and equipment.
- Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
- Handles clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.
