About The Position

ChristianaCare's Radiation Oncology at our Concord Health Center located in Chadds Ford, PA is seeking a professional, compassionate, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills. The Radiation Oncology team at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute is dedicated to providing advanced, patient-centered cancer treatment using state-of-the-art technology and evidence-based care practices. Radiation therapy plays a vital role in the treatment of many types of cancer, either as a standalone treatment or in combination with surgery and medical therapies. Our program utilizes highly sophisticated linear accelerators to deliver external beam radiation therapy with exceptional precision, targeting tumors while minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy tissue. With treatment times typically lasting only a few minutes, patients benefit from efficient, accurate, and personalized care designed to achieve the best possible outcomes. As a member of our Radiation Oncology team, you will work alongside multidisciplinary cancer specialists committed to innovation, excellence, and compassionate care. Our mission is to deliver world-class cancer treatment while supporting patients and their families throughout every stage of their cancer journey. As a Medical Assistant I, you support physicians in virtual and on-site patient care, performing essential clinical and clerical duties to ensure quality care.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required
  • Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)

Responsibilities

  • Greets and supports patients virtually and in person
  • Prepares patients for visits
  • Performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs)
  • Assists with exams
  • Maintains exam rooms and equipment
  • Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling
  • Handles clerical duties
  • Troubleshoots video visits
  • Supports patient portal access
