About The Position

ChristianaCare's Primary Care at Glen Mills is seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills. Primary Care at Glen Mills includes a team of expert Primary Care doctors and a Nurse Practitioner who in specialize in family medicine and provide services such as preventive medicine and screenings, physical examinations, treatment of acute illnesses and injuries and management of chronic conditions.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required
  • Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)

Responsibilities

  • Greets and supports patients virtually and in person
  • Prepares patients for visits
  • Performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs)
  • Assists with exams
  • Maintains exam rooms and equipment
  • Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling
  • Handles clerical duties
  • Troubleshoots video visits
  • Supports patient portal access
