About The Position
ChristianaCare's Outpatient Neurology at the Health Care Center, Newark seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills. Outpatient Neurology- HCC at Newark is located at 200 Hygeia Drive in Newark, Delaware. At ChristianaCare’s outpatient neurology practice, our neurologists partner closely with patients to create individualized treatment plans that support living well with neurological conditions. Our team is trained to help patients effectively manage current symptoms, recognize and address new concerns, and receive the appropriate treatment at every stage of their care. Through ongoing monitoring and a compassionate, collaborative approach, we are committed to helping each patient achieve the best quality of life possible. As a Medical Assistant I, you support physicians in virtual and on-site patient care, performing essential clinical and clerical duties to ensure quality care.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED required.
- A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
Responsibilities
- Greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs), assists with exams, and maintains exam rooms and equipment.
- Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.
