About The Position
ChristianaCare's Swank Center for Memory Care in Wilmington, DE is seeking a professional, compassionate, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills. The Swank Center for Memory Care offers expert, compassionate support for patients experiencing memory loss. Our multidisciplinary team—specializing in geriatrics, geriatric psychiatry, and neurology—provides comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment while partnering closely with patients and their families. Through a holistic approach, we address both the mental and physical needs of those affected by dementia, serving communities across Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. As a Medical Assistant I, you support physicians in virtual and on-site patient care, performing essential clinical and clerical duties to ensure quality care.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED required.
- A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
Responsibilities
- Greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs), assists with exams, and maintains exam rooms and equipment.
- Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.
