About The Position

Responsible for assisting physicians and nursing staff with patient care. Responsible for appointment scheduling and chart management. Performs delegated medical tasks and may perform clerical duties. Where the electronic system is in use, this position will utilize the system as documented in the department and/or FPI standard operating procedure and process; and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution
  • Medical Assistant certification (such as NAHP, NCCT, AAMA, NHA, AMT, etc.) is required
  • Demonstrated skill in venipuncture
  • Graduation from an accredited training program (school) or 1-2 years of supervised work experience in a medical setting
  • Ability to perform all medical assisting responsibilities under state and faculty guidelines
  • CPR certification required

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • 2 years of supervised work experience in a medical assisting field (special circumstances for exception, vetted by HR Director and Department Director)
