The Medical Assistant I will prepare and room patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and gathering/documenting/updating pertinent health information. This role will monitor and complete Clinical Integration/Quality Improvement measures, perform laboratory procedures, and assist physicians/advanced practice professionals with procedures. The Medical Assistant will administer routine medications, follow through with necessary procedure or test requests, and communicate effectively with patients and the healthcare team. Additional tasks may include basic and advanced clinical support skills such as suture/staple removal, laboratory procedures, phlebotomy, EKGs, and prescription refills under clinical supervision. The role requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care and demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles.
