About The Position

ChristianaCare's Cardiology practice at Middletown is seeking a professional, compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills. As a Medical Assistant I, you will support physicians in virtual and on-site patient care, performing essential clinical and clerical duties to ensure quality care. This role involves supporting patients virtually and in person, preparing them for visits, performing basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs), assisting with exams, and maintaining exam rooms and equipment. You will also manage EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required
  • Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
