About The Position

National Park Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant for their General Surgery department. This is a full-time position with day shifts (8am-5pm). The role involves performing routine clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of physicians or nurses. Responsibilities include assisting with patient assessments and treatments, performing basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection, monitoring patient condition, documenting care, maintaining equipment and supplies, and performing clerical duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• CMA or RMA or CCMA via the AAMA or NHA must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office.
• Under the supervision of physicians or nurses, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
