This is a dual role covering Medical Assistant and Front Office duties for all four locations: Elmhurst, Lombard, Naperville, and Hoffman.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or similar role in a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and practices relevant to dermatology.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients and staff effectively.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and general office software.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States in a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, documenting medical histories, and updating patient records.
  • Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments by preparing equipment, supplies, and treatment rooms.
  • Administer injections, medications, and treatments as directed by the provider and within scope of practice.
  • Perform basic laboratory testing and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, post-procedure instructions, and skincare recommendations.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked exam and procedure rooms.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Greet and check in patients, providing exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming environment.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and required documentation.
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments while optimizing provider schedules.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and route messages appropriately.
  • Process patient payments, collect copays, and assist with checkout procedures.
  • Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Flex between clinical and front office duties based on practice needs and patient volume.
  • Collaborate with providers and team members to ensure efficient patient flow and an exceptional patient experience.
  • Support practice operations by assisting with additional duties as assigned.
