About The Position

Assist various orthopedic physicians under the direction of Clinical Coordinator. Provide coverage for clinical teams as needed. Perform general nursing duties, including suture/staple removal, wound care/dressing changes, drawing up and calling in medications, and application of sterile fields. Responsibilities also include the application and removal of casts and splints, locating necessary imaging, test results, or reports for upcoming appointments, and scheduling/precertifying MRIs, lab work, procedures, and surgeries. Prepare exam rooms, restock supplies, power up computers, and print patient information as requested by physicians. Assist with verifying pre-op labs and scheduling surgery clearances. Provide support to other team members as needed. Fill out disability, return-to-work, and insurance forms, and obtain physician signatures on miscellaneous forms. Travel locally to satellite offices as schedule requires. Maintain friendly and professional patient communication via phone, provide patient education, escort patients, make reminder calls, and respond to patient messages and communicate test results under physician direction.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • ROT or CCMA certification required by the first 90 days of employment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, TOC physicians and staff
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines
  • Outstanding organizational, verbal and writing skills
  • Independent, self-starting and highly motivated
  • Strong patient care and interpersonal skills
  • Proven positive, “teamwork” attitude and work history

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one year full time clinical experience in healthcare preferred
