Assists with patient care activities as instructed; provides both clinical and administrative support for the clinic and physician staff as needed. This role involves floating between various departments and sites to provide support where needed, adapting quickly to differing protocols and workflows. The Medical Assistant Floater will be responsible for collecting and entering patient health history, taking vitals, reviewing and maintaining charts, escorting patients, monitoring schedules and patient flow, entering tests and procedures, documenting patient information in EMR, assisting with minor surgical procedures, and managing DME devices. Additionally, the role includes cleaning and sterilizing equipment, stocking exam rooms, communicating restrictions and instructions to patients, coordinating with outside facilities for tests or surgery, completing insurance and FMLA forms, and assisting with various administrative duties such as scheduling, insurance verification, and data entry.
