About The Position

INTEGRIS Health is hiring a full-time, day-shift Medical Assistant Float for the Cardiovascular Physicians Cardiology Outpatient Clinic in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The position floats to clinics in the Oklahoma City and rural areas two days per week and works at the Cardiology Clinic the other three days. The Medical Assistant Float provides direct patient care, including taking vital signs and patient histories, venipuncture, laboratory and x-ray services, referrals, and patient phone messages as directed by a provider or clinical supervisor. The role reports to an assigned director, manager, supervisor, or lead.

Requirements

Current nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or registration, or at least 6 months of clinic Medical Assistant experience.
CPR or BLS certification within 90 days of employment.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
Current Oklahoma State Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the insurance carrier, because the role requires operating an INTEGRIS-owned or personal vehicle.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Gather and document information about patient condition, including lab values, pain levels, patient education needs, nutritional status, and potential complications.
Contribute to the assessment and reassessment of patients.
Monitor and document patient status.
Participate in developing the plan of care, including implementing and evaluating appropriate patient care interventions, which may include administering medications other than narcotics.
Manage a large call volume while maintaining excellent telephone etiquette.
Organize workflow to meet patient needs in a timely manner.
May retrieve and transport medications.
Float to clinics needing patient-care support.
Provide direct patient care, including taking vital signs and patient histories, venipuncture, lab and x-ray services, referrals, and patient phone messages as directed by the provider and/or clinical supervisor.
