About The Position

Dermatology Associates is seeking a reliable, adaptable, and detail-oriented Float Medical Assistant to join their team in the Lake Oswego office. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth clinical operations by performing a wide range of medical duties and providing direct support to both providers and patients. The position involves a balance of administrative and hands-on Medical Assistant work. The Float MA will assess patients' needs, prioritize urgent issues, and ensure providers have the necessary information. Hands-on patient care includes assisting with patient flow, rooming patients, assisting in general dermatology procedures, surgery assisting, Electronic Medical Record scribing on an iPad, lab duties, and phlebotomy. Strong clinical knowledge to recognize urgent vs. non-urgent symptoms is essential. The ideal candidate can remain calm under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant from a nationally accredited program (AAMA, NHA, NCCT, or AMT with a current Medical Assistant Certification or License (OR-MA-C or OR-MA-R) preferred
  • A minimum of one year of prior outpatient medical assistant experience, especially in Dermatology, is preferred.
  • BLS certification.
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and healthcare practices
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high-quality and excellent customer service
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining medical records
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced medical environment
