About The Position

This posting is for a Medical Assistant (MA) II and Associate Medical Assistant (MA) I. The MA II role performs all MA I duties and is fully competent in clinical needs for assigned clinics, working under the delegation of a licensed practitioner. The MA I role performs basic patient care through administrative and clinical duties, also under the delegation of a licensed practitioner. Both roles are expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations. The Staffing Resource Department is a float pool serving PMG clinics in the Portland Metro area (Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington, and Yamhill counties), covering Primary Care, Pediatrics, and Specialty Care. Full and part-time availability is offered, with premium float pay and mileage reimbursement if eligible.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands-on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants, OR Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program, OR Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces, OR Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (for MA II)
• 6 months healthcare experience (for MA II)
• 6 months Medical Assistant experience (for MA II)

• Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months) (for Associate MA)

Nice To Haves

• National Medical Assistant Certification (for MA II)
• 6 months of prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment (for Associate MA)
• 6 months of previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health record (EHR) (for Associate MA)

Responsibilities

• Perform duties as directed by a licensed practitioner to assist in providing patient care.
• Perform administrative and clinical duties to meet basic patient care needs.
• Serve patients in Primary Care, Pediatrics, and Specialty Care settings.
• Float between PMG clinics in the Portland Metro area.
