About The Position

Scheurer Primary Care – Harbor Beach, a part of Scheurer Health, is seeking a full time Medical Assistant-Float. This role involves greeting and registering patients, assisting healthcare providers, performing vital signs and medical history collection, preparing patients for examinations, administering medications and injections, conducting basic laboratory tests, assisting with patient education and follow-up care, maintaining medical equipment, ensuring patient confidentiality, and performing other assigned duties. The role also includes assisting with in-store promotions, marketing, and community wellness activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a medical assistant program
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
• Experience with electronic medical records
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Greet and register each patient, verify insurance coverage, and collect co-pays
• Assist healthcare providers with patient care and treatment
• Obtain and record patient vital signs and medical history
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers
• Perform basic laboratory tests and procedures
• Assist with patient education and follow-up care
• Maintain medical equipment and supplies
• Ensure patient confidentiality and privacy
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Assist with in-store promotions, marketing and various community wellness activities
