About The Position

This is a full-time, benefitted position based at Scripps Coastal Medical Center Oceanside, generally working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In this role, the employee will primarily support front office operations and will also be cross-trained to assist with back office clinical duties as needed.

Requirements

Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

1 year of experience working as Medical Assistant
Primary Care, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine experience
Bilingual ability a plus

Responsibilities

Both front office MA and back office MA job duties
Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice
Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
Collecting patient data in person and by phone
Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
Scheduling of appointments and procedures
Complete and accurate message taking
Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
Basic registration and updating of demographics
