Medical Assistant - Family Medicine - Solana Beach
About The Position
This is a benefited, full-time position located at Scripps Coastal Solana Beach. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no evenings or weekends required. Solana Beach Family Practice serves ages 13 & up with a total of 9 providers on site. This is a small clinic with a great environment. We are looking for an MA to support one of our Provider's daily schedules.
Requirements
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
- BLS required in clinical setting for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

- One year of experience as a MA in an outpatient setting preferred

Responsibilities
- Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
- Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
- Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice
- Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
- Collecting patient data in person and by phone
- Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
- Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
- Scheduling of appointments and procedures
- Complete and accurate message taking
- Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
- Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
- Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics
