Medical Assistant Extern - El Cajon
About The Position
Neighborhood Healthcare is a private, non-profit community health organization dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to over 100,000 patients annually through a wide range of medical, dental, and behavioral health services. We are seeking a Medical Assistant extern to join our team and contribute to our vision of a community where everyone is healthy and happy. This full-time externship offers hands-on experience in a community healthcare setting, allowing students to apply classroom learning and support patients under the guidance of experienced professionals. Requirements
- Currently enrolled in the Medical Assistant program at one of our partnership schools.
- Available Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM for the full externship
- Professional, dependable, and eager to learn in a clinical setting
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Responsibilities
- Rooming patients
- Taking vital signs
- Administering injections (as applicable)
- Assisting with procedures
- Updating electronic health records (EHR)
- Supporting patient care coordination with the clinical team
