Medical Assistant - Endocrinology - Full-time/Days
About The Position
Accountable for basic clerical and technical supportive services within a defined scope of practice under the direction of a licensed physician or surgeon. The multi-skilled employee who partners with providers and clinic staff to provide ongoing support services to maximize efficiency while ensuring optimal patient/family experience. Welcomes/rooms patient and family in a timely efficient manner and collects patient information and vital signs specific to the practice setting (medical history, medication usage, etc). Effectively utilizes Valley Children's Healthcare systems, software and modules effectively to perform job-related functions. Documents all pertinent information in a precise, clear manner. Functions as a patient care team member assisting licensed staff in the performance and provision of safe, service-oriented and efficient patient care.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Program Medical Assistant or equivalent program
- Equivalent in a healthcare environment as a Medical Assistant or other patient care role
- BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position
Nice To Haves
- MA certification
- Minimum six (6) months in a health care environment providing direct care
- Bilingual Skills
- Medical terminology skills
