About The Position

The Toledo Clinic's Endocrinology Office is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to primarily handle administrative duties such as answering phones, managing faxes, scheduling appointments, processing prior authorizations, and referral management. Clinical responsibilities will be handled as needed. This is a full-time position with employee benefits, operating Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no weekend, call, or holiday work required. The role involves assisting with office operations by managing patient communication, scheduling, prior authorizations, and preparing patient charts. The Medical Assistant works under the supervision of the Physician(s).

  • Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA or RMA).
  • Medicare Exclusion List.
  • Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and manage incoming and outgoing patient communication.
  • Manage scheduling of patient appointments.
  • Manage incoming faxes.
  • Prepare and organize patient charts for providers (i.e.: ensuring all necessary patient records/information is updated in patient chart prior to appointment).
  • Manage prior authorizations for services and medications.
  • Assist with prescription refills and referral management.
  • Download diabetic patient status from Dexacom.
  • Assist, as needed, with preparing exam rooms, sterilizing and preparing instruments, escorting patients to exam rooms, preparing patients for providers.
  • Assist providers, as needed, with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries, administering injections, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants, payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT/A). For candidates that have not yet obtained or need to renew their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified.
