About The Position

Western Colorado Pediatrics is seeking a Medical Assistant/EMT/CNA to provide basic patient care, patient care tasks, and education under the direction of the physician. The role involves keeping exam rooms stocked and maintaining clean facilities for patient care. This position is ideal for new graduates looking to grow their skills in a supportive team atmosphere.

Requirements

• Must be a Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant capable of working back office positions
• Caring personality with a positive attitude
• Calm under pressure and exhibit sound judgment
• Excellent time management and problem solving abilities
• Good communication skills
• Ability to get along with others and work as a team to assist with all the providers
• Knowledge of the proper use of medical and lab equipment

Nice To Haves

• Previous medical office experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Obtain and chart vital statistics
• Reconcile medications
• Follow workflow protocols
• Provide patient instruction and education materials
• Prepare, administer and chart medications and injections
• Call patients with results and questions
• Perform EKGs, spirometry, urinalysis, A1cs, Hemocult, INRs, ear lavage, throat swabs and phlebotomy
• Clean and supply patient rooms
• Provide wound care at providers instruction
• Assist physicians with specialized minor procedures
• Keep providers informed of the daily schedule
• Perform functions according to providers orders
• Dispense medications at providers direction
