Medical Assistant - Credentialed for Surgical Specialist South in Tualatin
About The Position
Join The Oregon Clinic as a full-time Credentialed Medical Assistant in our thriving Surgical Specialists South Clinic in Tualatin. This role is crucial in delivering world-class care with kindness and empathy, ensuring patients receive the highest value care tailored to their needs. You will utilize excellent customer service and communication skills to support medical staff, collect patient information, prepare patients for examination, assist with procedures, perform specialty-related tests, schedule appointments, update records, obtain imaging, order labs, facilitate prescriptions, manage the patient advice line, process referrals, and assist with overall patient care delivery.
Requirements
- Certification through a national agency such as AAMA, NCCT, etc. is required.
- Current CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire.
- Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience with Epic is required.
- Excellent attendance and work ethic.
- Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
- A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of one (1) year of previous experience as a Medical Assistant is strongly preferred.
- Specialty Care experience is a plus!
- ACLS may be required by specialty.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the medical staff by collecting information
- Escorting patients to exam rooms
- Preparing patients for examination
- Assisting with procedures
- Performing specialty-related tests/monitoring
- Scheduling appointments for established patients
- Updating records
- Obtaining needed imaging for physician review
- Ordering labs
- Facilitating prescriptions
- Coverage of patient advice line
- Processing Referrals to outside entities
- Assisting with the overall delivery of patient care in the department
- Other duties as assigned
