About The Position

Responsible for the direct care of patients presenting themselves in an office, ambulatory setting. Involved in clerical services and clinical responsibilities. Cooperates with all members of the health team to meet total patient needs, including but not limited to non-invasive procedures such as light-based therapy, laser hair removal and additional aesthetic treatments/procedures.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalency.
• Completion of a formal MA education program or equivalent.
• Previous Medical Assistant clinical experience in a Primary Care Healthcare Practice, or equivalent.
• Previous experience working with the general public.
• Computer skills.
• Certification as Medical Assistant, or equivalent, within 3 months of hire.
• Current BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships and communication with peers, patients, families, providers, and support personnel.
• Ability to promote and adapt to change.
• Ability to apply principles of quality care and service.
• Evidence of a sense of responsibility, initiative, honesty, and positive attitude.
• Knowledge and ability to learn the safe use of various office equipment.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year previous experience administering medications and child immunizations.
• Previous experience in medical insurance verification, blood draws, and administering immunizations.
• Previous experience with operation of laser device.

Responsibilities

• Direct care of patients in an office/ambulatory setting.

• Performing non-invasive procedures such as light-based therapy, laser hair removal, and other aesthetic treatments/procedures.
• Assessing patient skin types and obtaining medical history to develop tailored treatment plans.
• Setting patient expectations and providing pre- and post-treatment instructions.
• Completing hands-on training and competency sign-off for laser equipment and aesthetic treatments.
